Baghdad To Brooklyn is coming this August
It’s real, and it finally has a date.
Baghdad To Brooklyn — the memoir I’ve been writing, in one form or another, since 2002 — is coming out late August 2026.
I’ve told this story in fragments for so long that it’s strange to see it as a single thing with a spine and a cover. But that’s what it is now.
What it’s about
It’s a memoir about leaving one home to build another. About what you carry with you and what you have to set down. It moves between the Baghdad I grew up in and the New York I chose, and it tries to tell both places honestly — the tenderness and the chaos, the humor and the grief.
This isn’t a hero’s story. It’s the story of an ordinary person facing a few limited doors and deciding which one to walk through.
How to stay close to it
If any of that sounds like your kind of book, here’s how to follow along:
- Launch is late August 2026 — I’ll post the exact day here first.
- Pre-order details are coming soon — I’ll share the link the moment it’s live, on the Baghdad To Brooklyn page.
- Want a reminder? Keep an eye on this page during launch week, or reach out and I’ll make sure you know where to grab a copy.
Thank you for being here early. It means a lot to share this one.
